The address and the application are different
The domain is your site's address; the hosting infrastructure is where the application runs. Domain renewals and DNS records are tracked separately. Corporate email may also operate on a different provider than the website. The fact that the site loads does not mean the email account is functioning correctly or that the domain renewal is set up.
Keep access secure
Account ownership should be linked to your business, and recovery information must be kept up to date. If possible, create a separate authorized user account for the agency to perform tasks. Do not paste passwords into project notes or chat conversations. Revoke old access rights when an authorized person changes, and use two-factor authentication for critical accounts.
Backups are not just about code
A code repository does not automatically back up customer records, custom-uploaded files, or all operational settings. You must determine where data is stored, how long it is retained, and how it can be restored. A "backup completed" message alone is insufficient; the restoration process must be verified in an isolated environment. Check separately whether these tasks are covered under the Care plan.
Your quick checklist
- Monitor the domain name renewal.
- Keep a record of account ownership.
- Treat data backups and file backups separately.
