Frame the decision correctly
Offering multiple languages does not mean copying the same text to different URLs. Each language page should naturally answer the questions of a person using that language. Publishing an untranslated page with a foreign language tag disrupts user expectations and obscures the relationship between language versions.
What should be considered during implementation?
Language links must point to actual equivalent pages. If an article exists only in Turkish, instead of redirecting to a non-existent English version via the language switcher, you could offer the blog index for that language. Canonical addresses and language alternatives serve different purposes; canonicalizing all languages to a single Turkish address is not a correct general solution.
Verification and next steps
Search engines evaluate device language, the query, and other signals together; the choice of which result to display is not entirely within the site owner's control. Instead of hiding foreign-language pages, work with proper localized content, consistent URLs, and reciprocal alternative annotations.
Your quick checklist
- Publish actual translations.
- Set up reciprocal language alternatives.
- Do not confuse it with Canonical.
