Frame the decision correctly
The customer should clearly see what they are purchasing before clicking the payment button. The package name alone is insufficient; the scope of delivery, exclusions, total amount, and currency must be presented together. New costs not shown on the previous screen should not come as a surprise at the final step.
What should be considered during implementation?
Preserve the customer's selection if a login is required. They should be able to return to their cart after creating an account and verifying their email. Instead of bypassing the security gate without account verification, explain the pending step and how to use the link. Deleting the cart in the event of an error creates unnecessary repetition.
Review and next step
After confirming payment success with the provider, display a thank-you message and the next step. Links for returns or support should be accessible. Design can inspire a sense of trust; however, genuine trust is built through consistent records, secure transactions, and transparent terms.
Your quick checklist
- Display the scope before payment.
- Preserve the cart during login.
- Explain the step following a successful payment.
